Don's apartment is reflective of his time commitment to his work. I'm sure it's been hellish to get them to where they are. I've had times like that, working 60-80 hour work weeks. But it's paid off with success at work.
1) Don and prostitute: How else can he vent or get a roll in the hay on a whim without the strings? He doesn't have time for strings.
2) Agreed. I figure it's Betty which is holding up this. Henry is ready to step in, but Betty is trying to control the situation herself.
3) Oh Sally has some interesting places to go this season.
As for others...Bethany I agree, Betty light... and naive. More Joan yes, but its good she's been added to the TV department. Notice how Allison came along as Don's secretary. Finally have that square, was getting old seeing a new face.
