Finished reading 'Columbine' (some thoughts in the IM). Up next is The Passage or GWTDT

Columbine was tough to read but worth it. I think what hit me hardest, aside from reading about the things (and things overlooked) that could have prevented this from happening, was just how determined Eric Harris was to, in the words of a recent movie, "watch the world burn." Regardless of his upbringing this kid was, for all intents and purposes, born bad. As a parent, that is discomforting.

Dylan, on the other hand, might have been talked back from it if certain circumstances were different for him.

It was also tough to read how much trouble, in one form or another, this community endured after the shootings.
