yes, and I understood lots. I first picked-up words from older siblings and from having books read to me, but then I was good to go on my own.

that was pretty young, I know.
it used to be started in schools ~6 or so; but here now, it's common for kinds to be expected to be on their way, at least, before they enter kindergarden.
