With the Kindle, I buy more books than I did before.

Several things lower the threshhold for me:
1. If I hate the book, I don't have a physical copy cluttering up the house. Without a place to see used books to here in Springfield, not having the extra clutter is a bonus.
2. I don't need to go to the bookstore to get something to read. I have a folder in my browser and when someone recommends a book I find the Amazon link and put it in the folder. Next time I need a new book, off to the folder I go and 5 minutes later I have a new book. No waiting on shipping, no travelling to a bookstore.
All of this means I read more now. I read both Joe Hill books on the advice of ST, which I would NOT have done if I had needed physical copies to do it.
