Sorkin's biggest problem is when he's pissed off, he writes simple opponents...he was pissed off in 1995, and he was pissed off in 2001/02
So you get simple bad guys like Robert Rumson and the idiot Bush clone Ritchie in Season 4.
It's why I *love* Season 7 becuase they wrote 2 strong characters is Santos and Vinnick and there was a fair bit of talk that he'd come back to assist in that.
When he didn't have an axe to grind, he's very talented.
