I had to open the store at 6 and had forgotten my key at work, so I showed up at 3AM (while the bagels were being made and all that) - and my boss accused me the next morning of showing up drunk.

I made sure to tell him that I had been up 'having fun with my boyfriend - and alcohol sure as hell wasn't involved' - thought it would make him uncomfortable enough to shut up and leave me alone, and it worked. He never questioned me again.

The weird thing was, I had a coworker at that job who used to show up hungover every weekend day she worked, and this same boss used to trade drinking stories with her.
