have you tried dietary controls? yours sounds much more severe than mine, but i just had to change one thing in my diet and it went away.

when i had acid reflux my only real symptom was just a tremendously painful sore throat.

what worked for me was to stop drinking coffee and while i my throat healed and for a while afterward no pop or tea either. (and i was a serious serious coffee addict - i had muscle cramping as part of my detox - the oils from the coffee was being stored in my muscle and everything ceased up as the oils left my body.)

but, now i can have an occasionaly coffee, and i drink diet coke a few times a week. without the a.r causing any problems.
