I spent Saturday searching my parents house for old backups.

(For those who weren't around, my parents came home Friday night to find their house had been burgled. They took a set of stainless steel silverware, a silver plate, a 6 year old DVD player, my Mom's blood sugar monitor, their desktop and laptop, and the backup drive. Their only real data backup was on that hard drive, so they had lost everything.)
After going through about 150 old CD-Rs I came up with a Quicken backup from 2008 and a My Documents backup from 2003. That 2003 backup had my Mom's family tree data up till then, so she seems fairly pleased to have that back.
