Loyalty program question: say you shopped at a grocery store with one of those card programs, and either forgot or didn't have a card.

How often has the cashier charged you full price for everything, and not just scanned a dummy version of the card to give you the sales anyway?
For me, I'd say maybe twice ever, and only when buying less than $20 of stuff. I've never ever had a big order where they didn't activate all the sales for me anyway.

My grocery store (Winn-Dixie) that has that will take your phone number instead. CVS always(-ish) uses a dummy card. -- nm

there's two solutions to the loyalty card issue - sign up with incorrect info, and/or don't care that they know how much toilet paper you buy. -- nm
