How lazy are we that we can't be bothered to get up and plug in a disc?
I think that selecting a movie from a menu and breezing through the start-up and menus would make watching a movie more appealing.

Yes. I spend lots of time perusing Netflix's "watch now" library, when I have 100+ of my own that I could watch.
