I keep a 500GB external drive running most of the time. I recently bought a 750GB drive that I only use for backup. Question inside.

I only plug the 750 into the computer to save files to, instead of using it day to day like the 500GB. I want to make sure it doesn't die on me. But should I back up the important stuff a third time, to DVD or something?
