Your trashy paperback example doesn't fly.

A) It's not like you're paying 200 for every book you buy, that's just a one time investment.
B) If anything it would be even easier to buy the book on the fly, you don't even need to go to the store, you can just do it as an impulse purchase on the couch, and as a bonus you don't have the clerk judging you for buying a trashy book.
