i actually saw a thing about a music prof who blind tests his kids on what sounds best to them.....

basically what he found over time was everyone mainly thought the media they had grown up with (LPs, CD's and mp3s) was the one that sounded the best to them.

If it's something I've listened to on vinyl, the mp3s are severely lacking.
