what seems to be happening is that there's an accelerated curve on each new development

once the concept for iPod or digital music player is engrained, the concept of "ipod for books" becomes that much easier to sell. Plus e-readers don't have to worry about jacking up the storage size so much. They've already come down in price way way faster than iPods ever did.
