To add to the library/digital books discussion, our City library system just introduced this stuff online...downloads and e-books.....(link)

You can check it all out here. Most seem to be able to be downloaded on to a MP3 or other e-reader but it expires after a certain date.

We've had digital books for a while - long before the Kindle. They're WMA format, like yours, so there's DRM. Likely done in conjunction with the pub -- nm
