I did once. Bought it off a guy being restationed to Germany when I was at Ft. Campbell.

Took it in for routine maintenance and the mechanic asked me if I knew it had been in a flood...
That bastard! Of course this was before carfax, etc. And I cant really complain that much, only paid $1200 for it, and it ran for me for 4 years or so, including my drive home to Ca.
