I'm struggling to write it to other locations, though. I'm trying to come up with a solution to the issue in order to avoid losing the data.

Responses:

Could be simple security permissions. Windows may be respecting them while the Mac ignores -- nm - oblique Aug 9, 12:42 15

        Buy a NAS. Put a hard drive in it. Use the mac to copy the files from the broken external drive, over the network, to the NAS. - Beryllium Aug 9, 13:02 3
