Think of it this way: you know how on offense there are two primary components: getting on base and hitting for power?

The OBP and SLG of OPS? Well, the inverse works for pitching. On-base is primary. Liriano has been good, but not great at preventing on-base. But he has been *otherworldly* at preventing slugging. In total, he's been fantastic.
