in general, if a batter gets a hold of the baseball and puts it in the field of play (not foul), it does make sense to me that a relatively consistent ratio of those hit baseballs would fall for hits. there are definitely some pitcher-dependent things that can sway it up or down, but if its mad high or mad low, it can be helpful.

that said i primarily like it around June 1 to help see what pitchers look shittier than they are for fantasy purposes, moreso than i like using it to argue who is having a good season.
