and, yeah, it's lenovo. (checking...nope, no IBM anywhere on it. for a couple of years after the sale, the laptops were co-branded IBM and Lenovo. This one is just Lenovo)
If it dies completely, or become unusable, work will send me a new shell of the same model with instruction to transfer my hard drive, cd/dvd drive, and any auxiliary memory (I did this with my old computer a million time)
BUT, I have to be in the US at the time for them to do that. If I'm outside the US, I'm fucked.
