I have been at this new (temp) job (god, I *hope* it's temporary) for a little over a month, and I am so friggin' annoyed, I hate walking through that door.
My first day there, my supervisor had me sit with some lady who does another job in the department. I was told that I was going to be sitting with her for the day, but that I was going to be doing a different job. My second day there, I was told, "Remember the job we told you you weren't going to have anything to do with? Yeah, you're going to be doing that job until we get you trained." Luckily I had picked up enough by watching her that I was able to squeak by...for 3 WEEKS. During those 3 weeks, I was told that someone would get around to training me, but nobody ever did.
The end of last week, I was finally shown what I was supposed to be doing in the first place, in little 5 minute increments.
them: "Have you been in [random computer program]?"
me: "Yes, once."
them: "Okay, you'll be using that program."
me: "Okay, but the only time I was in that program was when you were checking to see if I had it in my computer. Nobody's shown me how to use it."
[repeat 5 or 6 times, for every program I have to learn how to use]
There is literally no training for this job. In the meantime, my work has been piling up for months and months that they didn't have anyone to do the job, so I'm trying to catch up on 4 months worth of back work with no training, and the new work is coming in faster than I'm getting it done.
Going in on Saturdays and working overtime is now pretty much the only option, and I was really hoping to avoid that, seeing as how I've worked long hours/6 and 7 day workweeks since I was 19, and was enjoying the thought of working 1 40-hr/week job.
/end rant/
(sorry, I needed to get that out)
