I was on the phone with my mom when I saw there was a birthdate in small/fuzzy print that I knew was wrong. somehow, immigration came up

and my mom said something about not letting in people with TB or leprosy who know they have it but don't disclose.
the leprosy part set me off laughing until I was crying. man.
(I know it's still a thing in some parts of the world, and that there was a story about some people in the south with it; but the way she said it made it seem like we're teeming with it here because of immigrants. me: I must have missed that headline.)
