"It is a decision you must make together & united. Perhaps the analogy of adopting a pet would help Dan see.... That there is no such thing as 'bad' dogs or kids. Just mistreated knew that need Love, Structure & gentle discipline"
This might be my favorite:
"Dan just does know what he is missing, and what a child will mean to him as he gets older, Dan you just want Sheila all to yourself, and do whatever you want, and of coarse you can not do that when there is a child around, but oh they are so great to have, I had 5 and look at all the fun I have had with them all and the grandchildren, take him to see some children that need a family. We never know how our own are going to turn out, so I would not worry about adopting GOOD LUCk to you both.....you will see Dan, it would be so nice to have someone to cuddle and teach the ways of the world, and think how much fun Tyger would have. Love Gram"
"tell dan he can be a dad to a kid who needs a dad"
"Sheila I am so sorry your hubby is not agreeing with you on adopting a child but maybe if you give him some time to let it sink in and maybe you will be able to get a baby or a toddler then he will not have to worry about all the emotional issues that the older children may have sometimes when they are babies age 3 and under they do not remember much of what happened maybe you can put an add for a mother looking to find a great home for her unborn child there are many young mothers out there that are confused and really cant give a child a good home they would be thrilled to find a great couple to adopt their baby...I hope this all works out for you and with time i think it will remember you can adopt out of the country also so you may have a chance to find a newborn with no issues good Luck with everything it will all work out in the end if you need someone to vent to please call me anytime!! "
"You should get a Mexican Anchor baby, one who's parents have been rounded up and sent back to Mexico! thats my $0.02 :)"
" Sheila, has your husband been around kids very much? i know that (once upon a time) before i had much experience with kids i really didn't like 'em too much....and now that i've been bombarded with them, i LOVE them and i'm pretty good with them. is there any way you guys can volunteer to spend time at some kind of facility or agency so that he could see what they're really like and get used to them a little?"
So much to comment on :)
