STIS: Is there anything that can be done to recover a cd that has deep scratches in it? (It looks like Connor took a pen to it or something).

I'm not even sure what if anything is even on it, but it isn't being read by either of my computers.

Did the scratches go through to the other side (the top of the cd)? If so, you're SOL.

those resurfacers will work for some scratches, but if it's as gouged as you say probably nothing. -- nm

there are rumors that you can polish it out with toothpaste, but i think it works better for surface scratching.
