The remarkable thing is that they were able to play it so we didn't get any foreshadowing of the event. I honestly didn't realize what was happening until Dexter did. It was like getting hit in the face with a hammer.
Also, I realize that it means nothing, but it kind of creeps me out that Dexter married his (show) sister in real life.
