I stripped that virus that had hacked my gmail account, but since then I can't load sites without multiple refreshes

sites like Facebook that use certain code won't load no matter how many times I try. And I reinstalled Java and Chrome and updated Windows fully, and have no idea how to fix it other than reformatting and reinstalling my hard drive from scratch.
