and if he tossed out some vague soundbites in favor, i'd ignore them, but if he releases a detailed statement on his views that he can't shrug off...

like, clearly he can vote however he wants and no one has to trust him, but he'd be lying right to people's faces if he laid it out in writing in specific detail. not that that hasn't been done before either, but...
