I don't think it's necessarily coastal as much as by field or even company or division.

the only change I had to make, for example, for NYC work meetings/trips related to my old job was to add some darker colors, otherwise I fit in just fine with my usuals. I went a tick less formal for new england and lightened up for the south in summer; but, really, there wasn't *that* much difference anywhere.
that said, dress varies across my company. it's kind of amusing.
