I think static vs. dynamic can be a choice that is made..

my sister and I both think we saw that in my set-up at some point, and googling shows it can be a marketing thing, esp. for businesses. (need static for vpn, etc.)
mine has been the same here for at least a year or so, but it may have changed before that periodically.

Yeah, I might be a dynamic IP thing. Static IPs usually cost extra.
