Yes. It technically publishes to Foursquare but you can turn off all public items (but it also excludes you from Mayorships). I did not link it to

my Twitter or even Facebook. I check in "off the grid" for most things (food, etc) but have checked in a few times publicly for other places. I still forget to do it alot (forgot at lunch today and getting my breakfast)
