then he started whining after your dad left about the fact he's riding back with them. "Oh, M put me on the spot about that. I don't want to do that."

I wanted to say, "well, seeing as how you couldn't do anything your brother wanted you to do for him for/before his wedding day, I think you owe him this one." But I did not. :)
