I think if there is any doubt, you should use it. And there was so much at stake that challenge. Immunity and 3 reward items, that's huge. If there is any doubt, and there should be with those dumb leading the blind challenges, you use the advantage. Then, you hope to overcome the advantage when they use it.
Also, it looks like it was a good move for some of them, as tribes change next week.
