Any good gift suggestions for a 1 year-old?

Alex's first birthday is in one week, and I'm really struggling with any presents to get him. He's only 1 so not like he knows any better, and don't want to spend too much, but feel like he should have a couple things at least. I have a jack-in-the-box so far, which I think he'll like, though that is it. Beyond that, we already have a ton of toys and books and stuff, mostly stuff that was Andrew's. But at the same time, I don't want him to just have hand-me-downs (like 95% of his clothes are).
Good ideas much appreciated.
