There are very few non sequels that sell well right away, the real number for LBP is 1.1 mil sold in 6 weeks, half that in the U.S.

Using November only cut out LBP's release week, which was real convenient, but even so, it sold more then 140,000 copies in a single week in November in just the U.S.
Regardless, it's a game that's going to have a great shelf life and huge mirco-transaction potential, not the initial sales of a sequel shooter.
