No, no error. I just thing that photo layouts online are moving towards a lightbox look rather than a plain gallery.

Lightbox is when the page goes dark and the photograph layers overtop of it, and then you can click through the images without ever actually leaving the page. See the link below. If Wordpress doesn't offer a plugin, don't bother. But if it does, I'd suggest you give it a try.
Also, I liked the relaxed nature of your writing, so mentioning that you're still learning photography isn't entirely out of context in that sense. It's even a little bit humorous in a self-deprecating way. I think it can win people over.
Lastly, in the writing samples, you have six examples, but four of them are different AT&T projects. It gives the impression (rightly or wrongly) that you haven't done much work outside of that single client. If you're going to keep all six examples, crop the first one ("AT&T - Microsite") so that the browser window is removed from the picture (you don't need the URL bar, the button bar, the scroll bar, the status bar, etc.) Alternately, I'd suggest you go with only four examples and you drop the first one and another of your choice.
