You're right that the footer needs some cleaning up, though. There's some redundancy.

I see "Karen Troughton/Flying Carrot Media" twice in the same block. Try simplifying to:
Designed by Karen Troughton/Flying Carrot Media � 2010 All rights reserved
And, yeah, remove the "Wordpress" and "Canvas theme" elements unless you're obligated.
