The problem with all this "modern" stuff is that it ends up looking dated very quickly.

And those organically shaped buildings made with titanium skin (Guggenheim in Bilbao, Experience Music Project in Seattle as examples)are a nightmare to maintain, heat, cool and use.
Many of the art museums that added Modern additions have found that the spaces end up needing to be modified to keep the art from being damaged by poor HVAC or from light. So they have an art museum that isn't conducive to displaying the art or maintaining it.
They put form first and wedged in the function part wherever it would fit. That's ass-backwards and a real disgrace.
