Late night ST advice - Do I skip the deparment xmas party?

Next friday is the Litigation department xmas party, and technically I am head of the family law section, but I cannot stand xmas parties, and it is being held on a Thursday afternoon. I can easily find some court to attend (or make believe attend). Already had my review for the year and the compensation committee has already met, so no repercussions in that way . . .
