Because of the young Jays arms, the Toronto campfire talk suggests he is the frontrunner.

Hale's got minor league experience, while the other two do not. Alomar has kinda come out of nowhere, so the rumour is that both Don Baylor and Eric Wedge talked him up during their interviews. (To be brought in as a bench coach in Baylor's case and as a potential manager in Wedge's, who had little chance of signing with the Jays.)
Originally, it sounded like AAA managing experience at the least was going to be a must, so I'm not sure what to think about the cut-down list. Geradi, Francona, Showalter and Madden. That's a scary line up of guys to throw a rookie skipper against.
