It was Jesse Helms, and it was a pretty tacky thing to say.

but she didn't "wish he or his grandchildren get AID".

In response to a comments Jesse Helms made about condemning gays for AIDs, she said something to the effect of "if there was retributive justice in this world, Jesse Helms would get AIDs, or his grandchildren would."
