Okay, so just watched a news blurb from one of this morning's shows..,Charlie Chaplan movie w/ a person talking on a cell phone?...

so a person is seen in this old Charlie Chaplan black and white movie , and it looks like they *could be* talking in a small cell phone ...

it's not 100% clear, but i do stress *could be* ...

but here's my problem... everyone's talking like there was a time traveller, and they got caught on film, and blah blah blah ...

first of all, surely the movie editors would have seen this as unusual, to say the least and tried to edit it out? or at least the director would have been "Who the fuck is this Extra and what are htey doing? Now we have to reshoot the scene."

but the biggest thing of all is this ... even if it were a time traveller, and they went back 50+ years with a cell phone, there's 1 problem. Wouldn't there have to be cell phone TOWERS and / or satellite technology etc. in place so that someone pre-1950 could actually talk to someone else on a cell phone?

Seriously, folks... unless i'm egreggiously missing something here, there's nothing to see, so move along, move along.

(and yes, i do realize that if someone COULD time travel into the past and take a cell phone with them, then some secretive organization could theoretically take back the technology with them to do something that would allow cell phones to work ... but isn't that just TOO MUCH work for a cell phone????)
