[11:08] meeboguest675930: Evary car model ever made is different from every other car, when it comes to disassembly procedures!
[11:09] askevpl: yes, i found heater core after i choose the model, then did a keyword search
[11:09] askevpl: but i might not be choosing the same model that you did -- there are 5 listed under 1993 dodge dynesty
[11:10] meeboguest675930: Not so fast! Click on heater core and see what years you have to choose from!
[11:10] askevpl: the procedures are given next, not a menu of choices
[11:11] askevpl: you choose the year first
[11:11] askevpl: first choose the model, including year, then "repair procedures," then do the keyword search
[11:12] meeboguest675930: If not model specific, how can procedures possibly be correct?
[11:12] askevpl: you choose the model first.
[11:12] askevpl: after choosing the model, you get procedures. they are model specific
[11:13] meeboguest675930: Then what good is search, when the make and model are chosen up at the top?
[11:13] askevpl: we use search to find specific types of repairs.
[11:13] askevpl: for instance, "heater" to find heater core
[11:13] meeboguest675930: The heater core needs replacing becxause it leaks!
[11:14] meeboguest675930: That is a very specific type of repair!
[11:14] askevpl: certainly. that's why you'd search. and you'd find removal and installation procedures.
[11:15] meeboguest675930: NO PROCEDURES for 1984 models would apply to a '93 Dynasty!
[11:15] askevpl: on my screen, they're for the 1993. that's why i choose the model and year first.
[11:17] meeboguest675930: So, I say again, what good is search when the Make , model and year have already been speicified, but are IGNORED? Therin lies the problem with the database!
[11:17] askevpl: on my screen, the procedures given are for the make, model and year i specified.
[11:18] meeboguest675930: Is that why you said it is all different for you, rather than someone doing this from his home?
[11:18] askevpl: "removal and installation" are shown on the screen. scrolling down on that page, i see "1989-1993 dynasty". perhaps you're not scrolling down on that page?
[11:18] askevpl: no, that only had to do with logging in
[11:19] askevpl: the only difference at home will be your log-in, not the content of the database. if you chose the model and year first, the resulting procedures will include directions for that model and year. you may not be scrolling down far enough.
[11:19] meeboguest675930: Here is my point in a nutshell: The make, model and year are clearly specified on my screen (chosen at the very beginning).
[11:21] meeboguest675930: That being the case, NOTHING that pops up in the results box shoud deviate from the make Dodge, the modelDynasty and that model'ds year range (in this case 1988 thru 1993!
[11:21] askevpl: we can't control the way the content is presented, or the content itself, unfortunately. but luckily, the data you need is included.
[11:22] meeboguest675930: So, how did you come upon "heater core" without using search, or is it different fro me?
[11:23] askevpl: i did the keyword search after choosing the model
[11:24] meeboguest675930: So did I.
