Alrighty, I got a brief jump-start synopsis inside for my next novel. I'd like some working title ideas.

Noah Goolsby is an professor at a community college. The course he teaches mainly is Literature, but he�s also doubled as the new photography teacher. The school is just starting to open up more from its original conservative roots in an attempt to become accredited as a university.

The novel opens with him in the dark room with Karlos, a Latino student developing more of his project using a scratch technique that gives photos a haunting look while they�re being processed. They�re discussing a gay-straight alliance which Noah suggests when Karlos opens up about being harassed about his identity. Karlos thinks it�s �gay�, Ben says he�d offer to be the faculty sponsor and help with the paperwork. Karlos asks if Ben ever gets tired of helping. Noah says never. Besides, he doesn�t worry what people think. He�s got tenure.

Move on to the weekend, Noah is at the bar scene, letting loose a bit. On his way home, he comes across a homeless teen named Clive Webb. Clive�s had a rough time, and for some reason or another Noah decides to offer him a place to stay for the night. But just for one night.

Eventually, Clive doesn�t leave. Or maybe he does, but only after a fight. Noah can go after him too. There will be some scenes at the school, of course as well as at home and in the scene as Clive and Noah get closer. Noah starts to work on Clive getting him interested in art, maybe literature as well. Eventually they truly do live together with a flourishing romance. But Noah notices Clive has a dark edge to him. Haunted too.

Clive gets his GED. Noah cheats some numbers at the school to get him a scholarship. Clive starts taking the photography classes and becomes really good really quick. At a showing of his work, he gets attention by art critics. The dean of the school likes where this could lead, especially with the university accreditation coming soon. He pushes. They all start pushing.

Clive reveals some of his darkness. There will be an element of betrayal felt by him that Noah
has done him wrong. Clive will get back by taking photos that make it look like Noah has done unspeakable things.

The school�s accreditation is deferred for an unknown time. The media is all over it. And Noah is asked to step down.
