The amount of complainey I see on ST about this show since last night disheartens me. I thought it was a great premiere. I was riveted! (Spoils)

Maybe I should call ST The Watching Dead. :P
I should state that when it comes to post-apocalyptic movies, series etc I really dig the 'downfall' episodes - the first episode of The Stand comes to mind, or the leadup to the destruction in Independence Day etc. I did not feel it was slow in the least.
First, starting off with a headshot of a young girl, zombie or not, is bold. No camera pull away from that either.
Second. The scenes that had me tense:
1) The chained door in the hospital.
2) Rick walking with that simple little matchbook in the stairwell of the hospital
3) The look of zombie-wife through the peephole of the house (Yikes!)
Scene I loved: A helicopter's reflection in the glass of an Atlanta building. There is hope! But...
So glad the actor from Jericho is in this.
I do wish that we did not find out about Rick's wife and child yet. That could have waited for another 2 eps I think.
I hope to be able to discuss this more as ST gets into the day. Here is a link I just finished reading to EWs recap of the ep by Jeff Jensen (he recapped Lost).
