Out of the new ideas/characters, the most popular costume by far was Chilean miners. And, there was a surprisingly high amount of creativity/variation within these.

I saw lots of The Situation (I think), but not so many Snooki. Now now, I have an experienced eye. I can tell the difference between a costume and an actual douche.

There were a lot of Lady Gaga, but none that I saw went "all out." That is, with a LG costume, you'd expect at least a few people to make it spectacular. But no.

Justin Bieber: Yes, men dressed up as Justin Bieber. This made me laugh.

Honorable mention to the one dude I saw dressed as "Old Spice Man."
