trying new things. Sure, a lot fails but they learn from the failure. Probably more than they do from their successes.
The only reason Google TV is a "trainwreck" is because it strips a lot of power from content providers and makes it super easy for content users to find and view content on their own schedule. Obviously, providers don't like this so they are working to block/disable/gimp Google TV from their end.
Ultimately they'll fail.
