That's their problem. It isn't without solutions.

Just because the current system says 48 hours doesn't mean it has to be that system.
The easy way is to try to block progress. That will fail. The harder way is how to work with progress. They'll figure out how to work with it just like they survived VCRs, DVRs and the internet.
