So what is the intention of the quote? "Don't misread the victory as a vote for the GOP" - it was a protest against Obama, sure, I agree with that

It's "a second chance for Republicans to be what we said we were going to be." This is the part I don't understand.
Have Republicans actually said what they were going to be? At the moment, we have two competing camps within the Republican Party saying what the Republican Party should be. There's no shared Republican vision.
