My dad once introduced to an old high school buddy of his that they all called 'bird dog', cuz he always stole his buddies' girlfriends.

I was shocked that this apparently used to be a far more socially acceptable action.
In Alaska, nobody subscribes to that ridiculous idea of never dating your friends' *exes*, but stealin' em right out from under your buddies' noses? Verboten!
