I'll predict that whoever buys it will be laughing all the way to Wall St.

Viacom has to do what Viacom has to do, but I'm sure a lot of the bleeding money was the development costs of interfacing two brand new types of technology. Kinect and the new realistic instrument types used in Rock Band 3.
The development phase is over, and I think that Viacom took the hit on that phase and they aren't interested in hanging around to see the results.
Of course both Dance Central and Rock Band 3 can be huge flops, but they both seem to be ground breaking to me.
I'd take a chance on them with someone else's money.
